I always knew I wanted to work for myself. But I never believed I had what it took to start my own business. I’ve often wondered why I felt this way.
Generally, females are prone to self-doubt. We never feel like we are quite ready. We feel we just need to do one more course, or get one more certification. Then, finally, we will be ready.
But the truth is, we will never feel ready. But in actual fact, we where ready all along.
Our inner critic tries to protect us by keeping us playing small in our comfort zone. As a result, she keeps us in unfulfilling jobs, passionless relationships and generally unsatisfying stages of our lives. Imagine being fearless to do exactly what it is you want with your life.
Being fearless enough to leave your unhappy relationship. Fearless enough to quit your ‘safe’ full time job to pursue your passions. Fearless enough to take the leap of faith knowing that the universe has your back.
I sat with that fear for ten years. I let it rule my life, and keep me within a ‘safe’ and ‘good’ job. A job that gave me so much and took me around the world, but didn’t fulfill me. A job that I knew from the get go wasn’t my calling in life.
I’ve now come to terms with my fear. I acknowledge it, but then take inspired action to move through it. Because I no longer want to let it run the show.
Every day I flex my self-belief muscle. Our brains are hard wired to want evidence. Evidence that you can be successful. Evidence that you are worthy and of value. Evidence that you are courageous and confident.
So whenever I start to doubt myself, I remind myself of all the times I’ve been courageous. I remind myself of all the reasons I have to believe in my business, myself and my success. And every day I can feel my self-belief increase.
Sometimes you have to jump in, head first, even though you’re not sure how deep the water may be. You have to jump in and trust the process. Trust the universe will support you.
Because if you don’t jump before you’re ready, you never will.
And beautiful, I don’t want you to miss out on living the life you’ve always wanted.
What are 3 things you can do today to increase your self-belief?
