Do You Need To Release Control & Trust The Process?
Today’s blog post is one that is really close to my heart at the moment. It’s all about letting go of control and trusting the process, which sounds really easy in theory – but man, it can be one of the hardest things you do.
I am a planner. I love to be organized, to write my to do lists and to keep on top of life. So when I started my business 7 months ago now, I had a pretty clear idea of how I wanted everything to look.
Start my business, get a steady stream of clients, start to reduce my hours within my full-time job and then take the leap of faith into self-employment. I thought it was going to be a quick and easy process, and within months I would be scaling my business to five figures, six figures and beyond!
Easy, done! Signed, sealed and delivered.
But the universe has other plans for me.
Starting my own business has been one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done. I don’t like to say things are ‘hard’ because I feel like in saying that, I will attract more of that into my life. However, it has been a rollercoaster ride which has definitely not been easy!
Whilst it’s not quite looked as though I envisioned it to, it’s been a wonderful journey. I’ve been pushed outside of my comfort zone on multiple occasions. I’ve had to work through the mindset blocks (yep. Even coaches need coaches!), and overwhelming amounts of self-doubt.
And you know what, it’s all been worth it.
Every time I’ve doubted myself, I’ve pushed through the fear and created evidence to prove that I can do it. I’ve acknowledged the fear. Written them down, sat with them, and then looked for the evidence. And more often than not, there’s been no evidence. It’s just my brain trying to keep me safe.
I’ve learnt that you cannot control everything within your life. And that we shouldn’t. The universe has our backs, and everything (I mean EVERYTHING) is unfolding in the most perfect of timing.
I’ve learnt to lean into the discomfort, because if I feel even the mildest of discomfort it means I’m pushing myself outside of my happy zone. And it’s when we push ourselves outside of that ‘happy’ zone that we grow.
And if we’re not growing and evolving in life, then I feel we aren’t truly living.
I hope that by sharing this with you, I can support you today with wherever you’re at right now. Know that everything is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to. Release control. Show up every day and take inspired action, but detach from the outcome.
Trust the process.
I’d love to know what you’re working on right now, let me know in the comments below. xx
